If you recently talked to anyone that is glued to the developments in wireless technology, they would have mentioned 5G technology at least a dozen times this year. 2020 was supposed to have witnessed the next big step in the evolution of wireless technology with the introduction of 5G in India. However, the lack of infrastructure required to roll out 5G network, along with the coronavirus pandemic have thrown a wrench in those plans, and it is now being speculated that 5G network would be available for the Indian consumers from either late 2021, or early 2022.

While the government is expected to auction the 5G spectrum soon, it is now unrealistic that the Indian consumers could experience the hyper-connected world, thanks to the 5G technology, anytime soon. That said, it hasn’t stopped smartphone brands from rolling out with the latest smartphone models that support 5G networks. Smartphone brands like iQoo, Realme, Xiaomi and Samsung have already unveiled smartphone models that will support the 5G network, and it hasn’t taken too long for the Indian consumers to get excited about 5G, which is expected to revolutionize the smartphone industry.
